1. I will eat breakfast any time of the day. While this isn't the traditional Scottish Breakfast (which I WILL try, haggis and all), it was actually really good. Or maybe I was just really hungry at the time...but regardless, I enjoyed it greatly. The potato scone is the best! This was the vegetarian version so it had mushrooms instead of bacon and sausage, the healthier option, right? ;)
2. The park is my new gym. I tested out my first run through the park across the street from my flat and despite the icy conditions, it was the perfect activity for a weekend afternoon. This park, called The Meadows, is HUGE with tons of different paths. You can find all sorts of people wandering around, old and young, students and families. Hopefully the weather will be decent every once in a while so I can properly take advantage of this lovely venue.
3. Scotch Whisky is my new best friend. Well, not really. But I do now have a greater appreciation for it after visiting the Scotch Whisky Experience in Edinburgh next to the Castle. Our tour guide taught us everything one ever needed to know about making, discerning, and tasting whiskies. We even got to try a whisky of our choice in a whisky glass we got to take home! Above, you'll see the largest collection of whiskies in the world (aka the tasting room). What better way to be properly educated for the next few months?
Cheers!
